Celebrating 130 Years

About Us

Dr. Carson Greene, President

We welcome you to the Website of the South Leeward Mission of Seventh-day Adventists. The South Leeward Mission (SLM) is one of the ten organizational fields in the Caribbean Union of Seventh-day Adventists. We were born on March 06, 2011 when our mother Conference—the fifteen-island territory of the North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists experienced territorial adjustment.

The South Leeward Mission encompasses five breath-taking, sun-kissed islands in the Southern Leeward Islands chain. They are Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts, Nevis, and Montserrat. These islands sparkle with diversity and teem with a fusion of fascinating cultures, diverse beliefs, awe-inspiring landscapes, and an abundance of mouth-watering foods. They embrace an array of lifestyles—from the tourist-bustling cities to the slower tempo of village life. From the 365 sun-washed white sand beaches of Antigua to the lush green mountains of St. Kitts, from the lava-capped mountains of the Emerald Isle of Montserrat to the beautiful botanic gardens of Nevis. Yes, we work in this part of the world, building bridges of hope and affecting  men and women, boys and girls with the love of God.

As a mission movement, we have a family of 12,722 Spirit-inspired, Love-motivated, and Mission-driven members populating 48 congregations across the territory. Our administrative headquarters is situated in St. John’s, Antigua. We have four schools and an early childhood center with a student enrollment of 1302 and a staff of 69. We operate one senior citizen home (Tabitha), and a F.M. Radio Station (Second Advent Radio) and a Dental Clinic – St. Kitts.

The South Leeward Mission is part of a seventeen million member Adventist church family around the world. So, wherever we go, there is always someone to welcome us. We are a Christ-centered and Bible-based organization, focused on the end-times and interested in the well-being of man as a whole. We desire to create a growing community of passionate disciples that are one in Christ—diverse yet inclusive, open to the needs of people, active, caring, learning, and communicative—to build God’s kingdom in unity and develop each person’s life in the awareness of His coming.

Come join us on our journey of hope!

Christ is coming soon… Get ready!
